Old North Traffic Study Meeting
Attended the City's traffic safety meeting and, while it's disappointing that it took a crossing guard being struck, along with residents organizing through ACTION (Advocates for Calmer Traffic in Old North), to bring attention to these concerns, I'm encouraged to see the City moving forward with a community informed plan to make our streets safer for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and families.
I'm also glad to hear that the City plans to review the changes within a year to see what's working and possibly make adjustments where needed.
Sherwood Forest Mall Tragedy
The driver is facing multiple criminal charges, but the motive is not yet clear. Still surreal. So grateful for our first responders, and hoping for a full recovery for all those impacted.
Orchard Park Sherwood Forest Neighbourhood Association BBQ 2026
What a great annual barbecue put on by the Orchard Park / Sherwood Forest Neighbourhood Association and a large group of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the community. It was nice to speak with so many members of the community and catch up with some old friends. Great to see so many fellow former Banting Broncos there who decided to put down roots and make this area home rather than moving away and settling in another city.

Affordability: City's 33% tax hike kills it.
At the November 19, 2025 City Hall meeting to discuss an update for London’s 4-year plan, Ian challenged the proposed 33% tax increase. He argued that since the average resident's income won't rise at that same pace, the city needs stronger leadership to keep tax hikes aligned with inflation.

The below live-streamed town hall was organized by the Old South Business Association following the arson in Wortley Village. The meeting brought together the community and the owners of the three affected businesses: Sha Choix, A Village Tail, and Westland Gallery to assess the impact of the fire.
The session served as a space for concerned residents and fellow business owners to express their support for these local landmarks and discuss the immediate next steps for recovery. It highlighted the strength of the neighbourhood as the community discussed ways to rally behind the owners during a challenging time.
